Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do. -Steve JobsThose lines written above? My favorite quote. Ever. It's incredibly inspiring, empowering, challenging. It's brilliant. My favorite line, as you can probably surmise, is, "The round pegs in square holes."
I love it so much because I understand it. I live it. I am that round peg. I've never quite fit in with the people around me. I'll be real here: I'm anti-social, shy, awkward, bold, outspoken, judgmental, opinionated...
I'm also happy, fulfilled, introspective, etc. I'm a thinker. My mind is constantly moving, processing new ideas, pondering the meaning of life (but really), etc.
I'm highly creative, and I have a lot of ideas. I have an opinion about absolutely everything, and I'm not afraid to share it. In fact, I want to share it.
I'm not new to blogging. I've been an off-and-on blogger for over 2.5 years. The number of blogs I've had is somewhere in the double digits. I've had a faith blog, a quote blog, tv show blogs, design blogs, technology blogs, and countless "life" blogs. But although I love blogging, I haven't been able to stick with any of these for too long. My life is highly repetitive, boring if you will. Nothing worth blogging about.
Yesterday, I came across an absolutely fantastic blog by a highly skilled writer. He was witty, challenging, just plain freaking awesome. I agreed with and adored some of his ideas, and them some I vehemently disagreed with. However, I thoroughly enjoyed reading all of them, no matter my personal thoughts...because it was good, thought-provoking, sarcastic writing. And I realized, I have so many thoughts and ideas buzzing around in my head...why not share those?
And so, that's just what I going to do here. I know what you're thinking. Oh Lord, another crazy person ranting about their opinions on the internet.
Well, that may be the case. But I don't really think so. I think I have something new to offer. Actually, I think everyone who shares their opinions online had something new and different to offer. We're all unique, and when we scribble our ideas on this giant white board we call the world wide web, we're able to build off each other. I think my views, all put together, bring something to the board that is new and exciting. A new color of marker, maybe a coral or perhaps a light turquoise. For whatever reason, I'm passionate about this. I can't wait to being this new adventure, to touch my marker to the board and make a mark, albeit small, on this world. This is my space, my free, safe space. Your's too, in the comments section, if you'd like. No rules, no restrictions. Nothing too taboo discuss. No rules, no status quos. No erasers, no regrets. Join me, please do. Grab your markers, get set, go.
Here's too all of you fellow "crazy ones". Let's change the world.
